AmCham Ethiopia met the Japan External Trade Organization representatives (JETRO) and discussed overall business environment in Ethiopia and shared insight on utilizing the opportunities that are available for foreign direct investment. In the meeting that was held at AmCham office on May 17th, 2022, both parties explored ways to coordinate their effort to promote trade and investment and facilitate business prospects for their respective members.
JETRO delegation lead, Mr. Daisuke Asakura, Deputy Executive Director of JETRO Johannesburg and Chief Representative in Africa stated that JETRO works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world with a focus on creating markets for Japan exports. On Behalf of AmCham, Mr. Daryl Wilson, AmCham Board President mentioned that Ethiopia is a country where foreign investors can easily access the natural resources, young and vibrant work force, and many untapped areas of investments.
