On November 17th, AmCham Ethiopia and Prologue bcw hosted a Thanksgiving Charity Gala Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa Hotel. The The charity gala dinner brought together local and International business leaders, U.S. and international dignitaries, esteemed members of AmCham, representatives of the Ethiopian Government and special guests. The gala is an annual reunion of colleagues, partners, and friends, both old and new, to share the spirit of Thanksgiving by giving back. The invited guests indulged in the spirit of Thanksgiving a couple of weeks prior to the national holiday by sharing an elegant plated dinner coupled with an exciting fundraising program that includes live music entertainment, higher official speakers, and auction.
The program started with an introduction by Selam Amare, General Electric Country Leader, AmCham board member and treasurer. She introduced the two partner companies AmCham Ethiopia and Prologue bcw who collaborate to make the Charity Gala Dinner a success.
Daryl Wilson, Managing Director, East Africa Bottling S.C and AmCham board president as well as Yasser Bagersh, CEO, Cactus Group delivered welcoming remarks.
Moreover, the event guest of honor Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, H.E Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson gave her thanksgiving gala dinner remarks.
AmCham and Prologue bcw have selected two charitable organizations that are operating in the country in areas of Community Service and Education. The two fund recipients for the year 2022 Thanksgiving Charity Gala Dinner are LeDeg Midwifery College http://www.ledegmidwiferycollege.org/ and Hope for the Fatherless https://hopeforthefatherless.org/ who are working tirelessly to making a difference in people’s lives.
Also, the invited guests actively participated in the auction and all the auction items are taken. All the proceeds that are raised on this event will be donated to the two-award recipient charitable organizations.
The charity gala dinner is sponsored by Coca Cola, Boeing, Hyatt Regency Hotel Addis Ababa, and Veritas Consulting Service. The event won’t be a success without our member companies’ partnership, support and collaboration.
